naming conventions and requirements for formation

States do not allow companies to choose names for their company that are identical or even similar to other companies registered with their state.  For example, if there is already a NewCo LLC registered with the state, the state will not allow a NewCo Limited Liability Company to register.  You will not have to worry about these considerations at Early Stage Legal since we will do all of the research for you.

State also generally require that you include certain endings in your company's legal name.  Most states require that you include LLC, Limited Liability Company, Inc., Ltd., Limited, Incorporated, etc., at the end of your company's legal name.  There are some exceptions, but in general, we consider it a best practice to include a similar designation in your company's name.
